Kim Maksymuik and David Maksymuik CPA, CMA decided to create The Chatterbox after their search for materials to assist them in teaching their young twins important life skills turned up little in the way of materials specifically designed for children. They knew that schools would teach their children how to read, write, about mathematics, science and history. However, despite overwhelming evidence of the importance of life skills such as goal planning, how to manage money and how to deal effectively with people throughout a person’s life they knew these skills were not taught in school and rarely taught at home in any organized fashion.
According to the Utah Mentor University, administrators stated that they lose more students to credit card debt than to academic failure. The Networks Financial Institute at Indiana State University states that “Young adults between 20 and 24 represent the fastest growing segment of bankruptcy filings; in fact, more people will file for bankruptcy in 2004 than will graduate from college.” After reading this, The Maksymuiks felt that as parents we were clearly not doing all we could to prepare their children to deal effectively with money.
Kim and David spent two years researching what all the experts were saying about the most effective ways to teach our children life skills and exactly which skills and techniques were most attributed to the successful navigation of life’s challenges. The Chatterbox – Family Edition was the culmination of their research. Parents no longer have to leave the teaching of these important life skills to chance. Through the use of The Chatterbox, families can learn the secrets that have been used by highly successful families for generations.
Chatterbox Games Inc. was formed to create and distribute a series of life products designed to help families navigate life’s challenges. Future products currently in development include a Retirement Edition created to prepare families for their upcoming retirement and a Couples Edition designed to prepare couples for marriage.
David Maksymuik CPA, CMA has specialized in helping financially distressed companies get past their financial hurdles on the way to becoming success, prosperous businesses. He has helped companies raise funds through public offerings, helped buy and sell companies and has worked for some of the biggest corporations in the world. He is the director and member of the executive committee of a charity whose mission is to help youth at risk in building character and creating a sense of accomplishment through building a boat in one weekend.
Kim Maksymuik has worked with several successful entrepreneurs as well as operated several small businesses of her own. She comes from a family of published authors and for the past five years she has been a stay-at-home mom, tasked with the immense responsibility of developing a strong foundation for our children while co-creating The Chatterbox.
